The Norfolk Community College Project is Recruiting!

November 29, 2019

East Coast College are looking to recruit a highly motivated, compassionate and person-centred to join its Building Better Opportunities programmes, the Norfolk Community College project. The Norfolk Community College project is funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.

Our project works with local communities so that adults who are furthest away from the labour market can overcome barriers preventing their involvement in further education, training and employment. This programme aims to make positive contribution to New Anglia LEPs objective to promote social inclusion and combat poverty. To support delivery of the project we are now recruiting for the following positions:

Training and Employment Coordinator – (for participants reporting to JCP Offices: Great Yarmouth, North Walsham and Cromer)

(1 full-time post)

Hours: 37hrs per week.

Salary: £21,402 – £23,382 (Fixed term contract until Sept 2022)

The post holder will play a key role in the project with its aim to provide support to disadvantaged unemployed and economically inactive adults across Norfolk and help them to overcome barriers to obtaining work. These groups face considerable barriers to the labour market that impact upon their ability to access employment opportunities. The project will help them to address these, become more work-ready and move towards and into employment.

The post will be responsible for providing a range of employability training to meet the needs of long term unemployed adults and potential employers. They will deliver as well as sign post participants of the project to appropriate external training opportunities that will aim to support the person in moving closer to work.

The person will be required to coordinate training deliver from a range of venues and co-design their training with existing community and self-help groups.

The person will be responsible for involving local businesses in the project, ensuring that employability provision meets the current and future needs of the labour market. They will coordinate site visits to local employers and ensure that work placements including volunteering opportunities are successful for all parties involved.
